Gender Justice and Protection Fund 

The Gender Justice and Protection Fund has been established by the joint UNDP-DFID initiative Gender Justice and Protection (GJP), and is managed by the UNOPS-executed Project Management Unit (PMU). The funding is for innovative and catalytic initiatives for a maximum of three years’ duration ranging from £10,000 to £60,000, in the areas of Capacity building; Advocacy and awareness raising; Action-oriented Research and Documentation; Legal Aid; and Up-scaling promising practices. 

 

 

Application process  

An open, transparent and competitive process is applied encouraging CSOs and the relevant government ministries/departments to solicit the GJP funding opportunity. Proposals are entertained in both Urdu and English.

 

Who can apply?

 

  • Registered Non-governmental organizations, Civil Society Organizations, Community Based Groups and associations.
  • National, Provincial or Local governmental agencies
  • Education and research institutions
  • Women’s groups/networks

 Ineligibility

  • NGOs/Community Based Groups and Associations that are not registered.
  • An organization that has already availed £100,000 from GJP or if the total amount of funds the organization would receive in case latest proposal is accepted exceeds £100,000.
  • Proposals submitted by individuals
  • Proposals requesting support for cost of infrastructure including purchase of land, property or towards construction or repair of buildings.

 As and when the next round of soliciting proposals will be advertised, organizations interested in applying for GJP funding will be required to fill the Request for Proposal Form given below:

Selection process 

GJP advertises Request for Proposals (RFP) in major Urdu and English national newspapers, key regional language newspapers, UNDP website and FM radio stations among others. Proposals are received from  all over Pakistan including Northern Areas and AJK.  All the proposals are scrutinized in detail and assessed according to a set criterion as given in the RFP. Field verification is carried out by the project staff of all organizations whose proposals are short-listed,. Thereafter, the Fund Management Committee of the GJP project meets to review and approve funding for the proposals.   

 

Fund Management Committee

The Fund Management Committee (FMC) of GJP, notified by the Economic Affairs Division, is the approving forum for the sub-projects to be funded by GJP.The FMC comprises of representatives from the Ministry of Women Development, Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Economic Affairs Division, Ministry of Human Rights, Ministry of Interior, Department for International Development, UNDP and one Civil Society Organization.
